Aaron Booth is a Canadian indie-pop singer-songwriter based in Calgary with a career spanning over two decades. Known for his introspective lyrics and melodic sensibility, Aaron's work has received critical acclaim, beginning with his debut full-length album Transparent (2002), which charted #6 nationally on college radio and landed on critics’ top ten lists. His subsequent releases, Our Last Escape (2004) and IPX4 (2005) on Endearing Records, and Back Stories (2008) solidified his reputation within Canada’s indie-music scene and led to performances across North America, Europe, and Japan.
Aaron has collaborated with musicians from Snailhouse, The Weakerthans, and Woodpigeon, and has contributed music to art and theatre performances across Canada. While he took a break from solo work in 2009 after returning to Calgary to raise a family, he remained active in group projects, Vailhalen and Star City Lights, and licensed his songs to television programs.
In 2021, during the pandemic Aaron returned to solo recording, releasing Seasons (2022), an album shaped by the era’s themes of change, loss and renewal. The project, crafted at home with remote contributions from longtime collaborators, Chris Vail, Dan Gaucher and Mike Feuerstack, blends his signature melodic pop with shoegaze and folk influences.
A seasoned performer, Aaron has played renowned Canadian venues such as Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern, Montreal's Casa Del Popolo, The Khyber Centre for the Arts in Halifax, and Vancouver's Sugar Refinery, sharing stages with a range of indie luminaries. His music continues to engage audiences with its warmth and authenticity. With Seasons, Aaron reaffirms his place in Canadian indie music, embracing both nostalgia and fresh creative directions.
Aaron is currently writing songs and has assembled a new band to begin performances of his solo work starting in mid 2025.
